The Seven Grandfather Teachings
Love. Respect. Wisdom. Truth. Honesty. Bravery. Humility. These are the Seven Grandfather Teachings I live by and paint by. Each Teaching began as its own small painting — a bear, in black and white — and the seven were made to fit together as one: when all seven stand together, they form the White Bear.

The Seven Teachings together — the White Bear
The Wàwàtesì Trail, Bancroft
These seven paintings were enlarged into big signs along the Wàwàtesì Trail in downtown Bancroft, on the Hastings Heritage Trail. Walking the trail, you meet each Teaching one at a time — and a large sign bearing my name stands with them. The bear you see here, panel by panel, watches over the trail whole.
